Exhibition:
turn the page — Daniel Speight:The Soft City

March 21 — April 21

As part of the Bristol Gallery Weekend, Print Paradiso is excited to be hosting an exhibition of innovative screenprinted works by Daniel Speight: The Soft City. This showcase marks his first solo show in the city. The work invites audiences to experience a fresh perspective on printmaking, born out of Daniel's belief that anything flat can be printed on.

'turn the page' showcases a unique take on screenprinting where Daniel turns the page on conventional techniques and explores book pages as a canvas.

On display is a selection taken from his 'Book Block' series. These are graphic illustrations of architectural facades printed directly onto the fore-edge of recycled books. Book Blocks are unique print sculptures that turn books into buildings and shelves into streets, utilising screenprinting in a way never seen before.

Alongside these are a selection from his 'Steel Works' series. Inspired by the aesthetic movement of Brutalism, Daniel works with steel to create living artworks printed onto sheet metal where rust informs the process and completes the illustration in his customary innovative approach to the printed image.

About Daniel Speight
