We are hosting 3 print workshops for young people over the autum half-term. If your child is aged between 12 and 16*, they can come along and play and creative with screenprinting. Since the classes fall in Halloween week, expect a touch of spooky fun in the mix too.
*Note: we can be flexible on the ages if you feel your child would be comfortable.
Come along for a morning print session, where you will get a chance to make your own screenprinted design using our studio equipment. You'll be taken through the process of designing your artwork and preparing it for print, and then printing it out. We will be printing on to bags, or t-shirts or onto lovely high quality artwork paper.
Screenprinting is a great creative, printmaking method, that involves freehand work to get your design started, and then working with interesting tools and equipment to take your design through to print. You will also get to work with colours and inks.
The classes are light and engaging and full of opportunities for being creative. There will be a maximium of 6 attendees in each class. Your child will join us around a large table for some drawing or mark making initially. They will then be direct through the different steps needed to take their artwork on to the screen, and then to be printed.
The classes will be run by Steven, Print Paradiso owner, or by Anna Marrow, one of Bristol's finest screenprinting teachers. Both are experienced in working with young people and breaking down the steps needed for creating printed artwork.
Note: Class runs from 9:30 — 12:30. We can provide 9am drop off and/or 1pm pick-up if that is assistive, for an extra £10.
We have space available if parents/guardians want to stay for some or all of the class... but we will be focusing our attention on the young people.
